Endorsed Resources

PHE Canada’s Resource Review and Endorsement Program is a comprehensive process that involves expert review (content and format) of resources in development along with recommendations and feedback to the resource developers on how the program can be enhanced or revised to make it more pedogically sound, user-friendly, comprehensive, and relevant.

 The Resource Review Process:

A review committee will be established comprised of field experts in the related resource subject/target audience. Ideally, the resource should be provided to the review committee in the “near complete” stage. This will ensure that recommendations are still able to be incorporated into the final product.
The committee will review the resource based on the following components:
1.       Content
2.       Accuracy & Readability
3.       Methodology
4.       Design & Illustrations

 Each committee member will receive:

·         A copy of the resource to be reviewed (provided by the organization seeking review)
·         A letter of introduction and background on the project (provided by PHE Canada)
·         A Resource Review form for their completion (provided by PHE Canada)

The reviewers will be provided with an adequate amount of time (dependant on the timelines of the project) to provide comments and feedback to the PHE Canada staff responsible.

The feedback and recommendations will be compiled and a comprehensive report will be provided by PHE Canada. The resource developer can determine which recommendations/changes they wish to make. The final resource can be re-submitted for final review and approval.
