Grant McManes 2006- 2008

Grant McManes is currently the PE/HE Consultant (Senior Years) for Manitoba Education, Citizenship and Youth.  Grant’s primary role is to oversee the development and implementation of the mandatory PE/HE credits for grade 11 & 12 students effective September 2008. He obtained a Bachelor of Physical Education and a degree in Education from the University of Manitoba and has 20 years of physical and health education teaching experience in levels K-12 including 14 years of as a divisional Physical Education/Health Education Supervisor. Grant is currently is currently acting as Past-President on the PHE Canada Board of Directors.  He is also the Past President of the Manitoba Physical Education Teachers’ Association (MPETA). Grant is the recipient of many accolades, including the MPETA Outstanding Early Years award, and the CAHPERD Young Professional award. Grant has presented numerous workshops on topics such as, Heart Rate Monitors, Assessment, and Risk Management.

Grant works hard to lead an active healthy lifestyle which includes slo-pitch, hockey, and other personal fitness pursuits.  Grant also engages in activities with his wife Ingrid and daughters Megan and Laura.  Over the past several years Grant and Ingrid have been coaching their daughters in soccer, volleyball, and basketball.  A family that plays together, stays together.
